To the right is a mock-up for a tattoo shop in Knoxville. The tattoo shop doesn't really exist. It is a mock-up design project for the purpose of showing how I can market to a specific demographic of people.

I asked a friend to give me an example of a small business that could benefit from me being at the helm of designing its marketing booklet. I said that it should either be a tri-fold poster style flyer, or a booklet brochure of some kind. Something that this business could pass out to potential customers that would catch the eye of the kind of people interested in what the business had to offer.

My friend immediately said "tattoo shop".

We were passing by a tattoo shop at the time and it made sense.

So, I began work on designing the colors and themes for my layouts. I started choosing my fonts, and developing a targeted marketing idea. The flow is consistent with the theme of the shop and the layout is designed for targeted marketing to those who would be interested in tattoos or piercings.

I gathered photos from the internet, including images of giant squids. I added the purple color to the tentacles in two of the images.
